MLK Day of Service

1/20/2014

MLK Day is a federal holiday and most Americans have the day off from work and school.  We decided to head over to a large community service event held by our county.  It was amazing and worthwhile.  The grand ball room held nonprofit tables, community service information, canned good and clothing drives, as well as, crafts and service activities.  The energy was high and the lovernauts really enjoyed the opportunity to experience firsthand how our actions can make an impact; learning that no contribution is too small and anyone can be of service to someone else in need.

Volunteering your time or resources is the best way to improve the community you live in.  Your actions can inspire others to action.  We encourage everyone to find some way that they can improve the lives of others or the condition of our planet!

It's really important to provide "organic" experiences by taking your child places that will stimulate their 5 senses.

    Senses:
    • sight
    • smell
    • sound
    • touch
    • taste
